"Socratic Questioning," used in cognitive behavioral therapies, was inspired by Socrates (as the name suggests). For him, we would reach our truth through critical thinking and questioning. Questioning comes through reflection, and reflection lies in the ability to see things beyond the obvious and understand the simple things in life. In life, in the times we live in, in our culture and society, we understand that a large part of the population works, drinks water, eats, goes out on weekends, watches a movie, and on Monday, repeats everything again. What a drag, right? What's the point of life? I bet everyone has asked themselves this. And that's why I say that without this ability to understand that life is "that simple," that what provides "grace" and that we find ourselves in it by seeing values, peace, and gratitude in what we experience daily (like a simple sunset), the emptiness becomes much greater. Appreciating art, culture, poetry, thinking, questioning... Not necessarily finding answers, but perhaps finding our truth. That's what makes life more colorful. Life is simple, but also complex. Fleeting and eternal, without many big differences in routine, repeating everything every day, yet each day is different from the next, but... despite the hardships, it can be much more meaningful than we imagine. Socrates has been teaching us, for thousands of years, reflections on this brief life. And perhaps that's precisely what gives it more meaning. ❤️❤️ Does this make sense to you?
