You realize that in "Atlantis: The Lost Empire", Disney broke the mold and no one paid attention to the film. – There are no songs, no princesses, no talking animals. There is ancient culture, colonial plunder and a powerful message: not everything you discover… belongs to you. – Milo is not a muscular hero. He is an idealistic nerd, who no one listens to… until he proves that his heart is worth more than his resume. – Kida is one of the best "princesses" that Disney has ever created: wise, a warrior, protector of her people. And yet, the story did not place her in a castle, but in battle. – The animation is beautiful, mixing steampunk art, fictional language and mythology. And the script, for being "children's", has more depth than many adult films. A buried gem. Exactly like the city it wanted to pay homage to.
