These days, self-love has become an excuse for selfishness. If the other person doesn’t satisfy me, I just walk away. If a relationship requires sacrifice, it’s “not love”. If I’m sad or frustrated, I have the “right” to cheat and start again. As if commitment is disposable, as if love is just a pleasure. But resisting temptation doesn’t mean accepting it. Loyalty, effort, and perseverance have lost their value. And they often call evolution just an escape. It’s hard to help someone who has never been loved or treated right. Many choose to leave, but those who choose to stay and help need to be especially patient, empathetic, and willing to show that it is possible to trust and love again.
