I love visiting historical places! Stroll for hours to eagerly absorb the “mood” of the place, to become more aware of it. And then reflect for hours... That place where I was (in the photo) is the ruins of an ancient Greek theater. The theater existed for 700 years (from the 3rd century BC to the 4th century AD). It was built in the shape of a semicircle and accommodated around two thousand spectators. It all started with celebrations and rituals in honor of Dionysus, and later plays appeared that reflected the life and problems of society at that time. Even prisoners were taken for performances. The Greeks considered theater an educational event and called it a school for adults. During the Roman Empire, the amphitheater was used as an arena for gladiator fights. After 1,500 years, the theater resumed its operation. On summer evenings, museum visitors can watch performances dedicated to themes from antiquity and beyond. All actions on the theater stage are as close as possible to the traditions of ancient times. I watched a show there! 😍 It was wonderful! I got really cold, because I arrived unprepared, while the other spectators brought their blankets hahaha But I loved it!
