CHRISTMAS Fernando Pessoa The bell of my village, Dolente in the calm afternoon, Each of your chimes Sounds inside my soul. And your sound is so slow, So sad in life, That the first blow has the sound of being repeated. No matter how close you are to me When I pass by, always wandering, You are like a dream to me. You sound in my distant soul. With each blow of yours, Vibrant in the open sky, I feel the past further away, I feel the longing closer. A little poem for this meeting!
