The history of the cake begins in Ancient Egypt ⚡☕ To understand the history of the cake, we need to go back to Ancient Egypt. There, the product was prepared with bread sweetened with fruit syrups, dates and raisins. After the expansion of the Roman Empire, they perfected the fermentation technique and implemented it in production. So, they named it "cake" because it looks like a ball. The Greeks used this recipe from the Egyptians and prepared it in a product with honey covered in lit candles that represented the full moon. This was offered to the goddess of fertility, hunting and motherhood, Artemis. The difference between bread and cake arose especially in Rome, during the Renaissance. ⚡☕
