| Legging | ⚡ The history of leggings dates back to ancient times, when men wore tight wool or leather pants to protect themselves from the cold and insects. These pants were called hose or chausses and were worn by knights, soldiers, nobles and peasants. Leggings as we know them today emerged from the invention of lycra in 1958 by chemist Joseph Shivers, from the American brand DuPont. In the 60s, designers such as Mary Quant and Emilio Pucci began using this material in long pants and socks. Leggings became famous in the 80s, with actress Jane Fonda's fitness videos. Today, they are a versatile piece that can be used for exercising, walking, or creating more casual looks. #fanclub
