There are times when all we want is to escape our own thoughts. Sometimes it's a stranger who offers this refuge. Someone with whom you have no idea of the burdens you carry inside. Just being there, sharing time, sharing a light conversation, a break from reality. Today, I experienced something like that. For a while, I didn't need to confront my mind, nor face what ails me. I could simply be a lighter version of myself, without the shadow of sadness or the weariness of discontent. It was simply a calm conversation, without sexual intentions. I listened more than I spoke, and in that simple space, I felt at peace. It's curious how, even without knowing what's going on with us, some people can welcome us. Their gentle, almost intuitive presence, as if they sensed we're not well. I believe that even brief moments, even online, can be special; for a time, they brought me a sense of relief. Special enough to share myself here.
