What people want most is someone who listens to them calmly and quietly. In silence. Without giving advice. Without saying: "If I were you". We love not the person who speaks beautifully. It is the person who listens beautifully. Speech is only beautiful when it is born from long and silent listening. It is in listening that love begins. And it is in not listening that it ends.
