The Stoic Leadership of Marcus Aurelius. Marcus Aurelius, one of the most powerful Roman emperors, is also one of the most emblematic figures of Stoicism. His work "Meditations" was not a book to be published, but a personal journal of reflections, a guide to his own soul. His vision of Stoicism, therefore, is that of a man who needed to apply philosophy on the battlefield, in the labyrinths of politics, and under the weight of an empire. Unlike Epictetus, who was a former slave, Marcus Aurelius faced the duality of being the most powerful man in the world and, at the same time, a devotee of the philosophy that preached indifference to power and wealth. His reflection on Stoicism, then, is a constant meditation on how to maintain virtue, calm, and reason amidst a chaotic world. I am a small and curious apprentice of Stoicism. Embarking on a daily quest for mental evolution through these and other wise teachings, which aim to bring the most precious treasure of all: THE MIND AT PEACE #stoicism
