But, after all, why are so many people attracted to this practice, which seems less and less limited to very specific spaces? And what exactly is voyeurism? Sexologist and sex educator Cida Lopes explains that it is a fetishistic act that consists of observing other people naked, whether in non-sexualized contexts – such as during the shower or when dressing or undressing – or in a libidinous context – such as when whether you are having sex or masturbating. It is common for the voyeur to prefer to be ignored, watching that scene, which causes excitement in him, in an apparently surreptitious way. Therefore, there are cases in which this observer fulfills his fantasies in a non-consensual way, that is, without the other person knowing that he is being spied on. In this case, the subject may place themselves in risky situations and may be taken to court to answer for their actions.
