''Slow morning news pass me by, I try not to analyze''. This could be just a quote from Roxette's song, but it was exactly what I felt this morning reading the paper. What is happening in Afghanistan is the freedom to come and go being reaped by extremist groups specializing in spreading authoritarianism and cruelty. Today is a day that I don't even have time to go online, but I felt like sharing a snippet of the news here, because I believe that on social media we're all influencers in some way, so I want this to be used for good, aiming to encourage reflection and critical thinking by friends and followers. Because the (de)construction of a better world starts through empathy in small daily actions, with individual positioning and emphatic manifestation in the face of injustices. Can you imagine how desperate it must be, preferring to get on the wing of a plane to flee the country than to be at the point of Islamic rifles? My solidarity with these people and my thanks to all fellow journalists, for their courage and dedication in producing the stories and reports, especially the correspondent of ToloNews - local channel in Afghanistan - who was forced to cover herself with hijab even though she was not a fan of tradition.
