The word "kamikaze" (神風) means "divine wind" and dates back to an ancient Japanese legend from the 13th century. Furthermore, "kamikazes" were suicide pilots during World War II. I admit that, observing this ride in the amusement park, it sounded more plausible to me that it was named according to the second definition. Honestly, it seems much more suicidal to me than divine...
