"Music explains things my heart cannot express." I feel that one of the ways I connect with the world is through music. It penetrates me beyond words, awakening emotions, sensations, memories, feelings, silences that come from a deeper, more authentic place. I feel like I am me, accessing deeper layers, unique places, as if reminding me of who I am, my private world, which doesn't need to make sense to anyone else, only to me. It's as if I'm slowly shedding the masks I've learned to wear to survive. But in music... There I live... There I inhabit... There I exist... There is no requirement for character, no demand for coherence. There, I am only sensation, memory, and presence. It's as if something essential within me remembers its original form, prior to the world. The rest sometimes sounds like noise to me, the noise of conventions, of performance, of the need to be "someone" for others. But in music, I am no one—and that's why, perhaps, I am whole.
