john-the-rock If you're in a good frame of mind, Evangelion. If not, start with something funnier and lighter, like Dragon Ball or One Piece. If you prefer romance, I recommend Chobits or Karekano. If you like sci-fi, Akira or Ghost in the Shell.

gustor88 Among the older ones are Lady Snowblood and Ayako. If you like feudal Japan, I would recommend those by Hiroshi Hirata, especially Stronger Than a Sword. I've been enjoying Frieren a lot. Another more recent one, which is also lighter, is Astra.
