Today I celebrate another year, but I also celebrate the lucidity of being here, whole in my questions, present despite the absences. Time has passed through my body, leaving marks, questions, silences. But it has also left something rarer: awareness. I've learned that aging isn't about falling, it's about transitioning. It's understanding that some versions of ourselves need to die so that others can breathe better. Like in Lazarus, there is pain, but there is a direct gaze at life, without pretending eternity, without denying finitude. Life demands change. It demands truth. It demands courage to continue creating even when the body tires and the world weighs heavily. If time insists on moving on, I move on consciously (not always willingly). I carry losses, but also light. And as long as there is truth and art in silence, each birthday is a rebirth that chooses to stay. Today time lights another candle and I walk through another year like someone shedding skin, without ceasing to be who I am (or trying to). I learned from Bowie that life doesn't ask permission to transform. It demands the courage to become strange, a star, silent, to die a little and be reborn better. Every birthday is a new stage. The lights change, the costumes too, but the essence continues to pulsate to the same rhythm of a restless heart. I am not the same, and that is not a loss, it is art in motion. It is evolution disguised as chaos, it is beauty outside the norm. May this new cycle come with the audacity of those who do not fear the different, with the freedom of those who create their own sound, and with the truth of those who know: reinventing oneself is also a way of existing.
