Raise your hand if you've never waited for your parents to fall asleep to put a porn VHS on the video in the living room. Curiosity for what is not allowed is part of human nature. Sex is still taboo and the keyhole is pornographic art. The desire for the forbidden has its earliest record in the “Venus of Willendorf”, an object representing the female nude, which was found in 1908 in the Austrian city from which it borrowed its name. Carved in limestone, it dates to around 30,000 BC. Already in the middle of the 19th century, the English explorer Richard Francis Burton scandalized Victorian England with the publication of his translations of the “Kama Sutra”, the “Scented Garden” (Arabic manual), “Ananga Ranga” (Hindu collection of erotic works) and poems by Catullus (a Latin poet), in addition to the book “The Thousand and One Nights” (a collection of Arab tales, many of them erotic), which is the most quoted. Burton wrote books on tribal habits of birth, marriage, copulation, and death, as well as on fetishism and bizarre sexual practices. He was obsessed with sexual expression and, even after marriage, would wander around Indian brothels with his “walking dictionaries” (as he called his mistresses). From there it was a step forward and the Lumière brothers came to fill a world of still images with magic. As soon as they finished filming the “Exit of the Workers from the Factory”, someone was already filming nonsense. The movies had names like “Wonders of the Unseen World”. The award-winning documentary “Blue Movie” (1971), by Alex de Renzy, features films of incalculable historical value, such as the short film “Free Ride” (1915), about a man who gives two girls a ride and has sex with them under a tree. Called “stag films” (films for boys), the productions had a maximum of 15 minutes and were filmed, on request, in France, the United States and Argentina (!), one of the first poles of erotic film production in the world. Pornography, in this respect, is not dissociated from art; on the contrary: it is an intrinsic part of a demonstration for freedom, beauty, humor, pleasure and subversion. Films produced in Eastern Europe have always had a special reputation. The captive audience found more uninhibited women. In North America, during the 1970s, porn cinema left the private rooms and reached the big commercial rooms with the masterpieces “Garganta Profunda” (Deep Throat) and “O Diabo na Carne de Miss Jones” (The Devil in Miss Jones). Miss Jones), both by Gerard Damiano, and Behind the Green Door, by brothers Artie and Jim Mitchell. During the 1970s and early 1980s, true erotic gems were produced. Even in Brazil, masterpieces like “Oh! Rebuceteio” (1984), by Cláudio Cunha, and “The Golden Years of Sacanagem” (1986), by Paulo Antonione. The fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of communism accelerated consumerism and wild capitalism, leveraging the production of film films in Eastern Europe with an audience eager to consume slutty in the open with the Iron Curtain wide open. With this new production arriving on Betamax and, later, VHS videocassettes, we became aware of the first queen of European porn: Cicciolina. She was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1951. In 1964, she got married and became a naturalized Italian. In the 1970s, he met the pornographic film producer Ricardo Schicchi and adopted his stage name, known worldwide, on a radio program called Voulez-vous coucher avec moi? (Do you want to sleep with me?). Cicciolina became the physical representation of the myth of the liberal woman of Eastern Europe. She was the famous daughter of the city of Budapest, which today is known as the pornographic production capital of Eastern Europe, if not the whole of Europe. Is Eastern Europe a slutty paradise?
